Bursitis
The back of my left heel hurt after my 8 mile slog last Sunday and I attributed it to the stomping I did while running in the heat. But then I ran 4 miles yesterday and my heel really hurts now. This is on my left foot and since my right toe is still sore, I figured I'm just compensating and running with bad form.
So I searched Dr. Google and found a video on how to see if your injury was an Achilles tendon problem. I found a great PT site and from what they said, it probably isn't that, which is great news because an Achilles tendinitis is a long term problem that could end up in surgery.
So I looked for more info on YouTube (which is actually better for self-diagnosing) and decided my problem is bursitis. The description matches pretty well. I decided not to go the Body Pump or Pilates today to let my heel rest and I probably won't do my last 3 mile run tomorrow so I can let it rest for the 4 days before my marathon.
